In addition to creating a new brand for Killa Cupcakes (view project here), Kayla had also requested my expertise in creating a website for her to showcase her work, as well as give her a place where all of her clients, present & future, can go to see what she offers & even place an order for one of her beautiful & delicious cakes.

When creating a website for my clients, I like to set them up on a platform that doesn’t necessarily require them to understand complex code, and give them the capacity to update their website without feeling overwhelmed, confused or needing to be locked into working with me, or another designer for the entirety of their business’ life. I had Kayla set herself up on a Squarespace account, and created a website that not only looks visually appealing, but is also responsive, so it looks & works great on desktops, tablets or mobile phones.

The homepage features a warm welcome to the Killa Cupcakes website, and as you scroll, you’ll see a feature section filled with images of Kayla’s recent creations, testimonials, a brief explanation of how the Killa Cupcakes brand got started & a large link to an order inquiry form. The navigation features a link to her full menu, galleries of her creations, categorized into cakes, cupcakes & other treats, a contact form (should a client require more information before placing a inquiry form request), as well as a link to a page that gives everyone more information about Kayla, and her Killa Cupcakes. Working closely with Kayla, we looked at various websites that she loved, and we figured out exactly what she needed this website to do, and the best part is she can easily add, update or remove anything that she needs without having to contact a designer to code a change for her. I feel confident this new website has provided Kayla with a simple way to connect with her customers, as well as a beautiful space on the internet where her customers can view her work, and communicate with her when needed.
